After the motor runs for a long time, its bearings may have different degrees of wear and failure. In order to ensure the normal operation of the motor, timely inspection and maintenance of bearings is very important. The following is about the motor bearing fault diagnosis and maintenance methods.
1. Fault symptom and cause analysis
If there is overheating of the bearing, abnormal noise, or even failure to start during the operation of the motor, it is likely that there is a problem with the bearing. The methods for checking whether there are defects in bearings are as follows:
Fast push the periphery: Push the bearing periphery quickly by hand and observe its rotation. If the bearing rotates smoothly, there is no obvious vibration, swing or regression phenomenon, the rolling sound is slight, the finger touch feeling is well lubricated, and it can gradually slow down and stop by itself, it indicates that the bearing is in good condition.
Abnormal phenomenon: If there is noise when rotating and accompanied by vibration, swing, stop as sudden as a sudden brake, and even reverse the phenomenon, it indicates that there is a problem with the bearing and it is not suitable to continue to use.
2. Cause of the fault
Causes of bearing damage may include, but are not limited to:
Bearing overheating: long-term overload operation or poor lubrication leads to bearing overheating.
Foreign body intrusion: dust, metal debris and other foreign bodies into the bearing, affecting its normal operation.
Improper installation: bearing installation is not aligned or uneven force.
Aging wear: bearing natural wear after a long time of use.
3. Maintenance methods
In the case of bearing damage, the following maintenance measures can be taken:
Clean bearings: Thoroughly clean bearings with appropriate solvents to remove dirt and residue.
Rust removal:
If there are slight rust spots on the outer surface of the bearing, it can be gently wiped with a fine emery cloth and then cleaned with gasoline.
If the ball or raceway has a slight rust spot, can ignore the treatment; If the rust is more serious, it can be soaked in kerosene for 1-2 hours, and then the hand in the positive and negative direction of the bearing ring several times, using the mutual friction between the ball and the slide to remove rust spots, and then clean with kerosene.
Adjust the bearing position: If the inner and outer rings of the bearing are not parallel, the stop should be cleaned and all end cap bolts should be evenly tightened with a symmetrical and synchronous method.
Correct bearing position: If the inner and outer ends of the bearing are not on the same plane, the length of the inner cover of the bearing can be adjusted according to the specific situation, or the O-shaped washer can be used for reinforcement.
Check the axial clearance: the axial clearance between the bearing rings should meet the requirements, and if the allowable value is exceeded, a new bearing needs to be replaced.
Replace the new bearing: When the bearing has serious wear, fragmentation and other irreparable faults, the new bearing should be replaced.
Through the above method, the fault of the motor bearing can be effectively diagnosed and solved to ensure the stable operation of the motor. In actual operation, these maintenance skills should also be flexibly used according to the specific situation.
