Extend bearing life: Pay attention to avoid these problems

1. Tight fit When the bearing inner ring is forced into the journal, the light will cause the raceway bottom to produce a severely worn ring track, and the heavy will form cracks or peeling on the inner and outer rings and balls of the slide. reason The clearance between the ball and the slide is compressed too small, resulting in increased torque, increased friction, and an increase in the operating temperature of the bearing, which aggravates the wear and fatigue of the bearing, and ultimately leads to the failure of the bearing. Prevention method Adjust the radial clearance of the bearing to reduce interference and ensure the proper fit of the bearing and shaft.
2. Poor lubrication Poor lubrication is another common cause of bearing durability. When the bearing is seriously short of grease or grease dry aging, due to the heat generated by the high-speed operation of the motor, the bearing temperature will rise, which will lead to the oxidation of the ball, cage, inner ring and its journal, and other parts of the bearing, which will become brown or blue. Inspection method The inspection of bearing assembly quality can be carried out in the following two ways: Visual inspection method: After installing bearings in the bearing room of the motor end cover, rotate the end cover by hand. If the bearing rotates freely and flexibly, there is no vibration and shaking up and down, the assembly is considered qualified. Feeler inspection method: the motor end cover equipped with bearings is assembled on the base stop, and the radial clearance of the bearing is checked with a 0.03mm thick feeler. If the maximum clearance position is just above the center (for horizontally mounted motors), it indicates that the assembly is correct and reliable. Otherwise, it is necessary to adjust the position of the end cover properly and reassemble it until it is qualified. Sum up Through the above analysis, it can be seen that the key to avoid bearing durability is to ensure the proper fit of bearings and shafts, and maintain good lubrication conditions. Regular inspection of bearing assembly quality and lubrication status can effectively prevent the occurrence of the above problems, thus extending the service life of the bearing.
